This article explores how beneficial social networks, such a Facebook, My Space and Twitter which are some of the most popular technologies available on the internet.

Social Bookmarking sites such a Delicious, Diigo and CiteULike allows teachers to develop research-based best practices by:
*Collective assemble
*annotations
*making recommendations
*sharing scholarly resources

These social bookmarks provide greater insights into teachers attributes and teaching practices.

Social networking tools such as Facebook, Twitter, Classroom 2.0 and Ning can be used for:
*emotional support by likes, comments and sharing content
*recognizes one's creative practices

These Social bookmarking and networking tools can be very helpful in terms of getting information, sharing information and using the information to develop professionally. It also provide support. Teaching at times can be very stressful and overwhelming. When you connect with other teachers in your network, it allows you to share your experiences and solutions.
